Ferdi the Bulrush hit his head a few too many times trying to crush Mario and friends... After a particularly bad encounter, he ran into a Wonder Flower that had been torched by a Fire Flower. The delightful smell convinced him to give up his angry ways, and now he lounges around, content at last.
